The Metro Girls High School league kicks off the 2024-2025 Season
This year we have 12 teams in the Metro Girls league, including Barrington, Chicago Central, Evanston, Fenwick, Glenbrook, Grizzlies, Lake Forest Academy, Lake Forest High School, Loyola Academy, Maine Township, Naper Valley and New Trier.
The tiering round is currently underway and upon completion, the league will be divided into two divisions, Scholastic and Founders. It is sure to be a very tight contest again this year to determine where the teams will end up.
The tiers will be decided the week of October 20th and then the second half of the season kicks will kicks-off. The teams then enter the Metro playoffs and championship series. In addition, all eligible teams will compete in the Blackhawk Cup in March.
Last Year Finals Recap
The Metro League Championships were held on February 11 at Lake Forest Academy. In the Founders Cup, The Grizzlies took the crown, beating Lake Forest High School 4-1. In the Scholastic Cup, Barrington won the championships beating Chicago Central by a score of 8-4.
In the Blackhawk Cup finals Barrington took the State crown on March 13 – winning their second State championship in a row! They faced off against Glenbrook, beating them by a score of 6-2.
