Chrysoula Dafnis Awarded First Annual Metro League Play-Off Sportsmanship Award

During the Metro League Playoff, the Metro Board awarded Chrysoula “Souli” Dafnis a sportsmanship award for exhibiting the highest level of sportsmanship during the Metro League play-offs. The Metro girls playoff sportsmanship award will be presented annually in honor of Chrysoula Dafnis. Dafnis is a senior that plays for Chicago Central.

As noted by league president, Jenny MacDougall, when she handed out the award:

“Souli has demonstrated enthusiasm, kindness, helpfulness, and great team spirit not only towards her own teammates, but to the fans, parents and players on opposing teams this season and last season at the playoffs. She came into the rink with a huge smile on her face assisted players on both teams by letting them know which locker rooms they were assigned to, then worked her heart out throughout the game. After the game she took the compliments she was given with grace and kindness. Thank you Souli for being the inspiration behind this annual award.”
